Job Description

Job Opening: Finance Associate (Remote, Africa)

Compensation: $450 per week | $1,800 per month
Work Schedule: Fully Remote | 9 AM – 5 PM EST

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Finance Associate to support the financial operations of a rapidly growing network of restaurant merchants. The role involves managing merchant payments, corporate expenses, sales tax data, and assisting with essential accounting functions. If you’re detail-oriented, proficient in Google Sheets and Excel, and have a passion for financial process improvement, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

  1. Merchant Payments Management
    • Oversee payments for over 400 merchants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Handle complex financial data using Google Sheets and Excel.
  2. Corporate Expense Oversight
    • Categorize and track corporate card expenses in alignment with budgets.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure accurate reporting and budget allocation.
  3. Sales Tax Compliance
    • Prepare transactional data for tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Ensure adherence to sales tax regulations using tools like TaxJar.
  4. Accounting & Financial Analysis
    • Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
    • Analyze financial reports to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years in finance, accounting, or a related field; experience with partner/vendor payments preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel, including advanced functions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage complex deal terms and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with sales tax filing processes; experience with TaxJar is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret financial data and generate insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for clear reporting and collaboration.
