About the Role
ARCO Marine & Oilfield Services Limited (AMOSL) is seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to oversee the technical operations and maintenance of vessels. This is a critical role that ensures the smooth running of ship systems, compliance with maritime regulations, and efficient engineering management. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems aboard the vessel.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including STCW and ISPS codes.
- Supervise and manage the engineering team, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and safely.
- Prepare and maintain detailed engineering logs, records, and reports as required.
- Liaise with the captain and shore-side management to address any technical or operational issues.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) from NIMASA – STCW REG III/1.
- Proficiency in maritime certifications such as STCW 2010, Basic Security Awareness, Advanced Medical, Advanced Firefighting, and Engine Room Resource Management.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role working on a vessel.
- Knowledge of GMDSS and ISPS Code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
