Job Overview:
An organization based in Surulere, Lagos is seeking a qualified Internal Auditor to ensure the effectiveness of its risk management, internal controls, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding company assets, preventing fraud, and promoting ethical practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess the company’s risk management activities and internal control systems.
- Review and analyze financial statements, expense reports, budgeting, and accounting practices across departments.
- Conduct fraud risk assessments and investigate potential fraudulent activities using established deterrence principles.
- Develop audit scopes and annual audit plans, followed by reporting and monitoring management’s corrective actions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proficiency in Tally or other accounting software alongside strong skills in MS Office applications.
- High attention to detail with excellent mathematical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to analyze financial data and make informed recommendations to improve internal controls.
- Sound knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and auditing standards.
