Introduction
ENGIE Energy Access is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Commercial to lead its commercial operations across Nigeria. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, expanding market share, improving customer repayments, and strengthening sales and marketing alignment. This position requires significant leadership in managing regional teams and overseeing commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee national commercial strategy, including customer acquisition, pricing, distribution, and partnerships
- Lead and manage Nigeria’s sales performance, ensuring alignment with gross profit and EBITDA goals
- Establish a robust sales operating model with effective tools, reporting structures, and governance frameworks
- Lead and support regional sales teams, including the recruitment, development, and performance management of State Managers and field teams
- Collaborate with marketing to execute go-to-market strategies based on market research, customer behavior, and competitive positioning
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 12 years’ progressive business leadership experience, including at least 3 years leading a commercial function in sectors such as FMCG, telecoms, or financial services
- Proven track record in B2C sales and marketing, with strong commercial and operational acumen
- Experience managing large field-based teams and driving performance in diverse Nigerian regions
- Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, including partnerships with external commercial entities
