Job Description

A reputable tech-driven company is currently seeking an experienced Backend Developer skilled in both Node.js and Python to join their growing team in Lagos. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and scaling robust backend systems to support enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and Python (Flask or FastAPI).
  • Build, integrate, and manage RESTful or GraphQL APIs for web and mobile applications.
  • Work with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Optimize backend performance and ensure system scalability and security.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and manage services on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Apply best practices in containerization, CI/CD, and microservices architecture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in backend development roles.
  • Proficient in JavaScript and Node.js; experience with TypeScript is an added advantage.
  • Strong experience with Python and frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
  • Working knowledge of Docker, OAuth2/JWT authentication, and Git version control.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka is a plus.
  • Prior experience in FinTech or working with financial or tax data is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines will be considered a strong asset.
