Job Description
A rapidly expanding fintech startup in Nigeria is seeking a Chief Security Officer (CSO) to take ownership of the company’s security strategy and infrastructure. This is a strategic executive role focused on developing and managing security operations, risk management, regulatory compliance, and business continuity. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership experience, particularly within high-growth, digital-first organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide security strategies and policies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements related to cybersecurity and data protection.
- Lead incident response planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to assess and mitigate security risks across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (advanced degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are an advantage).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in security leadership roles, preferably in fintech, financial services, or technology environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional security initiatives in fast-paced environments.
