Job Description
A career opportunity is open for a Senior Operations Readiness Engineer (Subsea). This role is available to both expatriates and local engineers, focusing on ensuring subsea production systems, facilities, and equipment are fully prepared for safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The position supports the transition from project execution to operations by coordinating commissioning, validating design operability, and meeting regulatory and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operations readiness activities for a major brownfield subsea tieback project, ensuring safe integration into existing facilities.
- Review technical documents including specifications, P&IDs, and engineering deliverables for topside and interfacing systems.
- Oversee the implementation of readiness plans, testing programs, and handover documentation to verify operational preparedness.
- Support the development of procedures, emergency response plans, and training programs to prepare operations teams for start-up.

Collaborate with project and asset operations teams to manage risks, compliance, and seamless system integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Subsea, Petroleum, or Offshore Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Minimum of 10 years’ work experience, with at least 5 years in subsea operations, surveillance, or intervention.
- Proven experience in integrated start-up of deepwater subsea systems in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of subsea testing, maintenance, operational readiness, safety, and risk management.
- Professional certification or membership such as COREN, SPE, or IMechE.
- Prior Gulf of Guinea experience, especially familiarity with the Bonga asset, is an advantage.
