Job Description

A reputable and fast-growing pharmaceuticals and health company in Egbeda, Lagos, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to oversee its financial operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and efficient accounting systems while providing strategic financial insight to support business growth. This position is best suited for a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong leadership and technical accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, and reports in line with IFRS and company policies.
  • Supervise daily accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Handle all tax computations, remittances, and statutory filings such as PAYE, VAT, WHT, and Company Income Tax.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process, providing insights to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and strengthen internal control systems and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN or ACCA) – fully qualified or at the final stage.
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or FMCG.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
