Job Description
The General Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial control across multiple business units, including oil and gas, retail, automobile services, hospitality, and food services. This position requires a results-driven leader with strong commercial judgment, the ability to manage complex operations, and a proven track record of driving growth and operational excellence in a multi-sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring sustainable growth across all business units.
- Oversee daily operations across fuel retail, automobile services, retail marts, hospitality, bakery, and quick-service restaurant outlets.
- Lead annual budgeting, financial forecasting, performance monitoring, and cost-control initiatives across divisions.
- Ensure consistent service quality, brand standards, customer experience, and operational efficiency in all locations.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for Heads of Departments and Unit Managers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, environmental, and internal control requirements across all operations.
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and innovation initiatives to support expansion and diversification.
- Represent the organization in external engagements with regulators, vendors, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications
Interested candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree (MBA) or relevant professional certifications such as CIPM, PMP, or NIM is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 8–12 years’ managerial experience in a multi-sector organization, preferably within oil & gas, retail, or hospitality.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, and business planning skills.
- Proven ability to lead large teams, optimize operations, and drive performance across multiple business units.
- Solid understanding of the Nigerian business and regulatory environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
