Job Description
Neveah Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Accountant to manage inventory valuation, reconciliation, and control processes. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective stock management, and compliance with accounting standards within a manufacturing environment. The Inventory Accountant will work closely with storekeepers, procurement, operations, and finance teams to maintain inventory integrity across all processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile inventory records across ERP and accounting systems
- Track and document all inventory movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments
- Conduct monthly stock counts and perform variance analysis in collaboration with storekeepers
- Monitor inventory valuation methods (FIFO, Weighted Average, etc.) to ensure IFRS compliance
- Review and report slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock
- Support cost accounting activities, including preparation of COGS and production-related reports
- Enforce internal control procedures for material receipt, storage, and issuance
- Prepare periodic inventory and consumption reports to support management decisions
- Support internal and external auditors during stock audits and year-end reviews
SMART KPIs
- Inventory Reconciliation Accuracy: Maintain at least 99% accuracy
- Stock Variance: Monthly variance not exceeding 1%
- Reporting Timeliness: Submit monthly inventory reports within 3 working days after month-end
- Audit Compliance: Achieve at least 95% compliance rating during audits
- Obsolete Stock Monitoring: Identify and report all slow-moving and obsolete stock within set timelines
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory
- Residence in Lagos or Ogun State, with proximity to Mowe
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, controls, and reconciliation
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
