Job Description

Maroriem Consults is seeking a detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Officer to support both client accounting engagements and internal finance operations. This role is ideal for a professional with hands-on experience managing multiple client accounts, strong knowledge of Nigerian statutory compliance, and the ability to work efficiently in a fully remote environment. The role requires practical expertise in Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Zoho.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients using Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Zoho
• Post daily transactions and manage general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for clients
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Process client payroll, including PAYE and pension remittances
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian statutory requirements such as VAT, WHT, PAYE, and pension filings
• Support management accounts preparation, financial analysis, and audit processes
• Communicate professionally with clients to address accounting, tax, and compliance issues
• Prepare and issue client invoices for Maroriem Consults
• Track receivables, manage internal bookkeeping, and support internal payroll and statutory filings

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 1–4 years of relevant experience
• Mandatory hands-on experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Zoho
• Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws, payroll, and statutory compliance
• Proven experience handling bookkeeping and tax compliance for multiple clients
• Proficiency in bank reconciliations and financial reporting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently
• Functional personal laptop and reliable internet connection for remote work
• Professional ethics and strong confidentiality awareness
• ICAN or ACCA qualification (completed or in progress) is an added advantage
