Job Description
Tokiye Integrated Medical Services is seeking an experienced Quality Control / Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Manager to oversee and enforce quality systems on large-scale construction or EPC projects. This role is critical to ensuring that all structural and construction activities meet approved designs, contract specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements, while consistently aligning with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the project Quality Control / Quality Assurance (QA/QC) plan in line with client, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
- Provide leadership for QA/QC activities across all construction disciplines, with strong focus on structural engineering works.
- Review and verify structural drawings, design documents, and calculations to ensure compliance with approved standards and project specifications.
- Supervise inspections, testing, and verification activities, including concrete works, welding, material testing, and structural steel.
- Monitor construction execution to ensure approved methods, materials, and workmanship standards are strictly followed.
- Issue and manage inspection reports, hold points, and non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, including inspection records, certificates, test reports, and as-built documentation.
- Prepare and submit quality performance reports, dashboards, and technical documentation in professional English.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and support staff, promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Plan and conduct internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with statutory, client, and project-specific quality requirements.
- Identify quality and structural risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support project teams in resolving technical challenges proactively.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance management within construction or EPC projects.
- Strong hands-on expertise in structural works, inspections, and testing procedures.
- Professional registration such as COREN, P.Eng, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian construction codes and international standards including ISO, ASTM, ACI, BS, or equivalent.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
- Strong technical analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- High proficiency in written and spoken professional English for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary construction and design teams.
Working Conditions
- Predominantly site-based role with regular inspections of construction activities and materials.
- Extended working hours may be required to meet project timelines and quality objectives.
