Job Description

Palmpay Limited is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to manage and execute payroll operations accurately within a fintech/microfinance setting. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with statutory requirements, maintain confidential payroll records, and collaborate with HR and Finance to support seamless payroll delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and within scheduled timelines
  • Calculate salaries, allowances, deductions, bonuses, and statutory contributions
  • Ensure compliance with PAYE, pensions, NHF, NSITF, and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee data
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Respond to employee payroll queries and provide necessary support
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance on payroll-related issues
  • Prepare payroll reports for management review and audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field
  • 3–4 years of payroll experience, preferably in fintech, banking, or microfinance
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian payroll laws and statutory deductions
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality
