Job Description
The Oncology Officer will support clinical oncology services by contributing to radiotherapy planning, patient follow-up, clinical audits, and protocol development. The role emphasizes evidence-based care, teamwork, and quality improvement to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Contour target volumes and organs at risk for radiotherapy treatment planning
- Ensure accurate CT simulation procedures for radiotherapy planning
- Conduct follow-up consultations for radiotherapy patients and monitor treatment progress
- Assist Clinical Oncologists during patient treatments and clinical procedures
- Review diagnostic reports and contribute to patient management plans
- Provide patient counselling on treatment plans, potential side effects, lifestyle adjustments, and diet
- Participate in tumour boards, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical audits
- Support quality improvement initiatives, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
- Contribute to clinical protocol development, training, research, and educational activities
- Collaborate with operations and support teams to enhance overall patient experience
Requirements / Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from a recognized medical institution
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in oncology practice
- Strong understanding of oncology protocols, radiotherapy processes, and quality standards
- Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Excellent communication, documentation, and patient engagement skills
