Job Description

An organization in Lagos is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to manage accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring full compliance with statutory and internal payroll requirements. This role requires strong numerical skills, confidentiality, and close collaboration with HR and Finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
  • Calculate salaries, overtime, allowances, bonuses, and statutory/non-statutory deductions.
  • Manage statutory deductions and remittances, including PAYE, Pension, NHF, and NHIS.
  • Maintain and update payroll records for new hires, exits, promotions, and salary changes.
  • Reconcile payroll data with finance records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare payroll schedules, summaries, and reports for management and relevant authorities.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and payments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • HND or BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in payroll administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian payroll regulations and statutory deductions.
  • Experience using payroll software and systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
