Job Description

Vertmance Resources Limited is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to lead integrated crop and livestock operations while driving commercial growth, value-added production, and market expansion. This role combines farm operations management with business development, branding, and revenue growth across local and international markets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all crop and livestock operations to ensure high productivity, quality, and sustainability.
  • Develop and implement integrated production plans for crops, animals, and feed systems.
  • Optimize land use, labor, equipment, and farm inputs to maximize output and profitability.
  • Ensure animal welfare, biosecurity, and crop health standards are consistently maintained.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase farm revenue and profitability.
  • Identify and develop value-added products from farm outputs (processed foods, packaged produce, animal products, by-products).
  • Introduce commercial innovations such as agro-processing, farm-branded products, and export-ready product lines.
  • Prepare and manage farm budgets, cost controls, and profitability targets.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and launch farm products suitable for local and international markets.
  • Build a strong farm brand around quality, sustainability, and training excellence.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies including pricing, packaging, distribution, and promotion.
  • Identify and build relationships with distributors, exporters, retailers, and online marketplaces.
  • Lead digital marketing and content strategies to promote farm products and training programs.
  • Manage the farm’s training facility and develop paid training programs, workshops, and certifications.
  • Position the farm as a center of excellence for practical agricultural training.
  • Identify new revenue channels including exports, agritourism, consulting, and advisory services.
  • Establish partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, universities, and private sector organizations.
  • Explore grant, sponsorship, and contract farming opportunities where applicable.
  • Negotiate supply contracts and off-take agreements.
  • Identify operational and commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Crop Science, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience managing large-scale crop and livestock operations.
  • Proven experience managing farm budgets, cost controls, and profitability targets.
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience in value-added production and market development.
  • Experience developing partnerships, supply contracts, and distribution channels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and operational management skills.
