Job Description

Agbeyewa Farms is hiring a Director of Farm Operations to lead large-scale, mechanized cassava farming across multiple locations in Ekiti State. This senior leadership role is responsible for translating production strategy into high-performance field execution, driving yield optimization, cost efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence across the entire farm value chain.

Responsibilities

  • Translate corporate growth strategy into executable farm operations, land development, and expansion roadmaps.
  • Provide leadership for multi-site, mechanized farm operations with accountability for performance, scalability, and profitability.
  • Lead strategic planning for cultivation cycles, input strategy, harvest forecasting, and yield maximization across large acreage.
  • Establish data-driven farm performance systems, dashboards, and reporting for executive decision-making.
  • Direct mechanization strategy, fleet optimization, asset lifecycle management, and capital equipment investments.
  • Champion best-in-class agronomic, environmental, and sustainability practices to maximize output per hectare.
  • Drive enterprise-scale cost control, resource optimization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Institute SOPs, governance structures, and operational controls required for scalable, multi-site farm operations.
  • Lead modernization efforts, innovation, and technology adoption in farm management.
  • Build and lead a high-performance leadership team of farm managers, supervisors, and functional leads.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in large-scale commercial agriculture or agribusiness operations at a senior leadership level.
  • Proven leadership of mechanized farming operations across thousands of hectares.
  • Strong experience in cassava cultivation, yield management, and land development.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and operational budget management experience.
  • Track record of managing large field teams, equipment fleets, and multi-site operations.
  • Strong understanding of mechanization, irrigation (where applicable), and modern agronomic practices.
  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution capability and a data-driven, commercial mindset.
  • Ability to build systems, processes, governance structures, and performance management frameworks from the ground up.
