Job Description

Strait Sahara Microfinance Bank Limited is seeking an experienced HR Lead to drive strategic human resource initiatives and align people management practices with business objectives. The role requires a proactive professional who can serve as a trusted advisor to management, champion employee engagement, and strengthen organizational effectiveness across business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic HR partner to business units, providing guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall corporate goals.
  • Lead workforce planning processes, support talent acquisition efforts, and evaluate candidates for open roles within assigned divisions.
  • Conduct investigations and resolve complex employee relations issues in compliance with company policies and labour regulations.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide actionable reports to management to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive organizational development initiatives, including employee engagement, retention strategies, leadership development, and training programs.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisal systems to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Support compensation and benefits processes, including salary reviews, incentive plans, and benefits enrollment in collaboration with the People Operations team.
  • Provide functional leadership to HR analysts, ensuring confidentiality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional HR certification such as PHR or SPHR is an added advantage.
  • Active CIPM membership.
  • Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or similar strategic HR role.
  • Prior experience in the financial services or lending industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws, performance management systems, workforce analytics, and employee relations practices.
