Senior Associate, FX Trading at Flutterwave

Job Description

Flutterwave is hiring a Senior Associate, FX Trading to support its treasury and foreign exchange operations across Africa and Europe. This role focuses on developing and executing FX trading strategies, managing liquidity, structuring treasury deals, and supporting product pricing. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, deep knowledge of FX markets, and experience within banking, treasury, fintech, or payments.

Job Responsibilities

• Support trading activities across frontier and emerging market currencies
• Monitor and manage liquidity positions across multiple currencies to support business operations
• Assist in structuring treasury deals for large global merchants
• Contribute to establishing pricing frameworks for new and existing FX-related products
• Support the development and implementation of FX risk management frameworks
• Generate market updates, trading analytics, and periodic performance reports
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial markets, regulatory requirements, and industry trends
• Ensure compliance with applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Continuously evaluate processes against industry best practices and recommend improvements
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

Job Requirements

• 4 – 6 years of post-graduate experience in banking, treasury, payments, or fintech
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
• Solid understanding of international payments, banking systems, and crypto on/off ramp processes
• Strong knowledge of Emerging Markets (EM) and G10 FX trading operations and relevant local regulations
• Proficiency in Excel and other financial analysis tools
• Experience in FX trading, emerging markets, or remittances is an added advantage
• Excellent financial analysis, strategic planning, and execution skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
• High level of accountability, integrity, and ethical standards
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments
