Job Description

Terra Energy Services Nigeria Limited (TES) is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage and coordinate oil and gas projects from planning through execution. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to deliver projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule while maintaining strict compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, development, and execution of oil and gas projects in line with approved scope, cost, schedule, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Implement and manage change control processes, including evaluating and documenting variations with stakeholders.
  • Supervise procurement processes, including preparing technical scopes, reviewing vendor bids, and recommending awards.
  • Track performance of engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while facilitating safety and technical reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the corporate office in Houston, Texas, providing regular performance updates.
  • Support commissioning, testing, documentation, and handover processes.
  • Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, and resolve technical or commercial challenges.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and present project status, technical, and cost/schedule reports to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Membership of COREN is an advantage.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience, with at least three years in a project management environment within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong expertise in Project Engineering and Project Planning.
  • Practical experience in onshore or offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Engineering principles and applications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
  • Sound understanding of safety, health, environmental, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
