Job Description

Deutsche Telekom IT & Telecommunications Slovakia is seeking a highly experienced Lead Solution Architect to drive end-to-end functional solution architecture within the BM RANi (Best Mobile RAN Infrastructure) domain. This strategic, business-facing role focuses on translating business vision into scalable, sustainable, and future-ready architectural solutions that support Deutsche Telekom’s mobile access network and “Best Network” positioning.

The position is remote within Slovakia and plays a key role in shaping architectural direction across a complex telco ecosystem.

About the Project
The BM RANi domain is responsible for planning, building, deploying, and optimizing the IT landscape supporting the mobile access network. It covers:

  • Network planning and rollout, including 5G, Small Cells, and network expansion
  • Inventory, configuration, and RAN optimization
  • Integration with assurance, workforce control, and support systems
  • Collaboration with internal and external partners and other mobile operators

The focus is on ensuring high coverage, quality, capacity, and innovation while enabling automation, scalability, and modernization of the IT architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of end-to-end functional solution architecture within the HUB
  • Translate business requirements into clear architectural concepts and functional designs
  • Act as a strategic advisor to business stakeholders and communicate architectural decisions in business terms
  • Define and communicate architectural direction, principles, and guardrails
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and long-term architectural vision
  • Document key architectural decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADR)
  • Identify and manage cross-domain dependencies and integrations
  • Collaborate with process designers, solution designers, cluster architects, and implementation teams
  • Facilitate cross-domain alignment and ensure architectural consistency
  • Drive sustainable, scalable, and future-proof architectural outcomes

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Solution Architecture or Domain Architecture within complex IT or telecommunications environments
  • Proven ability to connect business strategy and capabilities with functional IT architecture
  • Solid understanding of OSS/BSS environments, RAN domain, orchestration, or system integration (advantage)
  • Experience with modular architectures, API-based integrations, and modern architectural governance principles
  • Experience in transformation initiatives such as modernization, decoupling, or platform evolution
  • Experience working in agile environments (Scrum, SAFe) in large organizations
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex architectural concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Confidence in making architectural decisions and taking ownership
  • Business fluent English; German is a strong advantage

Salary and Benefits

  • Base salary starting from 2,500 € gross (depending on seniority and experience)
