Senior Associate, Settlement Services

Job Description

A leading NASDAQ-listed company in the mortgage and real estate technology space is seeking a Senior Associate, Settlement Services to support and coordinate critical closing processes. This role involves working closely with stakeholders across the settlement lifecycle, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely execution of real estate owned (REO) transactions. It is ideal for professionals with strong attention to detail and experience in managing high-volume closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned REO files from pre-closing through final settlement completion
• Coordinate closing timelines with asset managers, buyers, agents, attorneys, and internal teams
• Review and validate all pre-closing conditions before scheduling closings
• Ensure compliance with client-specific instructions, deed requirements, and documentation standards
• Schedule and oversee closing logistics within defined service level agreements (SLAs)
• Conduct detailed quality checks to ensure adherence to client guidelines, underwriter requirements, and ALTA Best Practices
• Identify discrepancies or risks and escalate issues appropriately
• Provide timely updates and maintain communication with clients and internal stakeholders
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and documentation requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• 2–4 years of experience in REO pre-closing or closing coordination
• Strong understanding of settlement workflows, closing statements, and post-closing processes
• Familiarity with ResWare or similar title/settlement platforms
• Knowledge of ALTA Best Practices, wire fraud prevention, and data security standards
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proven ability to handle complex or escalated cases independently
