Job Description

A leading construction firm in Lagos is seeking a highly experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee daily operations, drive project excellence, and ensure efficient delivery across multiple construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational leadership within the construction or manufacturing sector and a proven track record in managing large teams and complex projects.

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational leadership across construction, project management, procurement, logistics, and site teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and regulatory standards.
  • Implement operational policies, workflows, and performance metrics to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor project KPIs, cost controls, resource utilization, and resolve operational challenges promptly.
  • Promote a strong health, safety, and compliance culture across all sites.
  • Mentor and develop senior managers and project leadership teams.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Master’s degree (MBA, MSc) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years progressive experience in the construction industry.
  • At least 4–6 years in a senior operational or leadership role (e.g., Operations Manager, Project Director, Deputy COO).
  • Proven experience managing multiple construction projects and large operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, financial management, and site operations.
