Electrical Engineer (Contract Staff) – Electricity Distribution at BU Power Limited
Job Description
BU Power Limited is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer on a 6-month contract to support electricity distribution operations. The role involves ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of power distribution systems through technical planning, maintenance, and fault resolution. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in Nigeria’s power sector.
Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Employment Type: Contract (6 Months)
Salary: N400,000 – N500,000 Monthly
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, design, and optimize medium and low voltage distribution networks
- Conduct load flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination
- Support maintenance and upgrades of transformers, substations, and distribution lines
- Ensure compliance with NERC standards, IEC/IEEE codes, and safety regulations
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD or related tools
- Troubleshoot network faults and implement corrective solutions
- Collaborate with field teams, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project timelines
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in electricity distribution (DISCO, IPP, or power utility preferred)
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis, distribution planning, and protection systems
- Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD, MATLAB, PowerFactory, or similar engineering tools
- Practical experience with high, medium, and low voltage equipment, transformers, and switchgear
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available for immediate resumption
