Team Lead, Tax Compliance at Access Bank Plc

Access Bank Plc is seeking a Team Lead, Tax Compliance to oversee tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, managing tax audits, and maintaining accurate tax reporting while supporting strong governance and risk control within the Group’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all tax laws and statutory obligations across all operating jurisdictions
• Prepare, review, and file tax returns including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, and Withholding Tax
• Maintain and manage a tax compliance calendar to ensure timely submissions
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and update internal processes accordingly
• Coordinate and manage tax audits, investigations, and regulatory reviews
• Serve as the primary liaison with tax authorities during audits and engagements
• Prepare audit documentation, responses, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Manage tax disputes, objections, and resolution processes
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions and reports
• Support financial reporting with accurate tax disclosures and reconciliations
• Identify tax risks and recommend strategies to strengthen compliance and governance
• Provide tax advisory support for business transactions and internal stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CITN, or equivalent
• 4–5 years of experience in tax compliance, audit, investigations, or transactional taxes
• Experience in corporate tax within banking, financial services, consulting, or multinational environments is an advantage
• Strong understanding of corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax frameworks
• Proven experience managing tax audits and regulatory engagements
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and report writing skills
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation abilities
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
