Head, AI Unit (Team Lead) at National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI)

The Head, AI Unit provides strategic leadership for the planning, coordination, and implementation of artificial intelligence initiatives aligned with national development priorities. The role focuses on driving AI adoption across the organization, ensuring effective execution of projects, and delivering measurable impact through strong leadership, governance, and change management.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI strategy aligned with organizational goals and national objectives
• Oversee planning, execution, coordination, and performance tracking of AI programs and initiatives
• Drive organization-wide AI adoption through structured change management and stakeholder engagement
• Lead, manage, and develop a multidisciplinary AI team to ensure high performance and delivery
• Ensure timely execution of AI projects with operational excellence, accountability, and clear reporting standards
• Establish frameworks for monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of AI initiatives

Requirements / Experience & Skills

• Senior-level experience in artificial intelligence, data science, digital transformation, or related fields
• Proven track record of executing strategy in complex, multi-stakeholder or large-scale environments
• Strong leadership experience in managing teams and driving organizational change
• Good understanding of AI systems, deployment pipelines, or technology-driven transformation programs
• Experience in public sector, regulated industries, or national-level initiatives is an added advantage
• Knowledge of AI governance, ethics, compliance, or policy frameworks is desirable
