Essence Crop Science Nigeria Limited is recruiting a Procurement Officer to oversee sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities within its agrochemical operations. The role requires a highly organized and proactive professional capable of ensuring timely procurement of raw materials, chemicals, packaging materials, equipment, and operational supplies while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate should possess strong negotiation skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, warehouse personnel, and internal departments. Candidates must also be willing to relocate to the Lekki Free Zone axis.

Responsibilities

• Source reliable suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing for materials and services.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, invoices, and procurement documentation.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of raw materials, chemicals, packaging items, and operational supplies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Compare quotations and evaluate supplier performance to achieve cost efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and store teams.
• Ensure all procured items meet required quality and safety standards.
• Track deliveries and resolve procurement or supply-related issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and supplier databases.
• Support importation processes and logistics coordination when required.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations.
• Previous experience in agrochemical, manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial sectors is an added advantage.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Must be willing to relocate to the Lekki Free Zone axis.

Salary

N300,000 – N350,000 per month.
