Job Description

Mshel Homes Limited is hiring a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor to join its production team in Lagos. The role is ideal for candidates with strong storytelling ability and hands-on experience transforming raw footage into engaging visual content for digital platforms. The selected candidate will handle editing projects from concept to final delivery while maintaining high production quality and brand consistency.

Salary: N200,000 – N300,000 monthly plus performance-based incentives

Job Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished video content with seamless transitions and strong narrative flow.
  • Review scripts and production materials to determine the best shot selections and continuity structure.
  • Develop projects from rough cuts to final edits for marketing campaigns, social media, and promotional content.
  • Synchronize audio, music, dialogue, graphics, and sound effects to improve overall production quality.
  • Perform color correction, visual enhancements, and basic motion graphics where necessary.
  • Collaborate with creative and production teams to understand project goals and deliver engaging content.
  • Produce optimized video formats for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and company websites.
  • Conduct quality checks on final edits to ensure accuracy in visuals, audio, and storytelling.
  • Organize and maintain video assets, project files, and archives for future use.
  • Stay updated with modern editing trends, software updates, and post-production techniques.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio showcasing storytelling and continuity editing skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and title animations.
  • Experience using audio editing tools such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or Logic Pro.
  • Familiarity with color grading software like DaVinci Resolve.
  • Strong understanding of pacing, shot selection, continuity, and emotional storytelling.
  • Knowledge of export settings, video compression, and optimization for digital platforms.
  • Background in cinematography or video production is an added advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and time management skills.
