Job Description

Baselenders Limited is hiring an experienced Head of Operations to oversee credit operations, lending processes, and portfolio performance. The role involves managing the complete loan lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining operational efficiency, and supporting sustainable portfolio growth in a fast-paced lending environment.

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: N350,000 – N400,000 per month

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end loan processing cycle from application review to disbursement while ensuring timely turnaround.
  • Coordinate Credit Committee activities and support accurate and prompt credit decision-making.
  • Ensure strict compliance with KYC, AML, and internal credit policy requirements across all loan files.
  • Monitor portfolio quality and maintain Portfolio at Risk (PAR) within approved thresholds.
  • Supervise loan disbursement processes to ensure operational accuracy and proper control measures.
  • Manage the loan management system, ensuring accurate reporting and data integrity.
  • Prepare weekly portfolio performance reports for executive management, including PAR and NPL analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with Lagos State money lending regulations and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Risk, and Recovery teams to improve portfolio performance and reduce defaults.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in lending, microfinance, credit operations, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management, PAR/NPL frameworks, and loan lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting or managing credit committee operations.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of KYC, AML, and Nigerian financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and loan management systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
