Accountant

A reputable organization in Abuja is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial operations, maintain accurate accounting records, and support effective financial reporting. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, sound knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and process daily accounting transactions.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements and cash flow reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor financial accounts regularly.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment follow-ups.
• Assist with budget preparation, expense monitoring, and cost-control initiatives.
• Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with PAYE, pension, VAT, and other statutory obligations.
• Assist during internal and external audit exercises and ensure adherence to financial policies and controls.
• Maintain inventory records, fixed asset registers, and support stock reconciliation activities.
• Coordinate with departments on financial approvals, documentation, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an added advantage.
• Experience in hospitality, retail, or multi-business operations will be beneficial.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
