Job Description

A fast-growing fintech company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Control and Compliance Officer to support regulatory compliance, strengthen internal control systems, and help manage operational and financial risks. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of compliance frameworks, AML/CFT regulations, and risk management processes within the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement internal control measures to reduce financial, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews, internal audits, and risk assessments across departments.
  • Ensure proper implementation of AML/CFT procedures, including KYC verification and suspicious transaction reporting (STR).
  • Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to relevant authorities within required timelines.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and compliance standards.
  • Maintain proper compliance documentation, records, and audit trails for regulatory purposes.
  • Support compliance awareness and staff training on internal control procedures and regulatory policies.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in compliance, internal control, or risk management within fintech, banking, or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles.
  • Good understanding of AML/CFT regulations and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Salary

N200,000 – N250,000 monthly (gross).
