Job Description

A reputable organization is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and financial control across construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality, compliance, and efficiency. This role requires strong expertise in quantity surveying, contract administration, procurement, and stakeholder management across residential and commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender documents, and project cost plans.
  • Submit tenders and participate in bidding, negotiation, and contract award processes.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and expenditure to ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors to secure cost-effective agreements.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs using project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Identify discrepancies between BOQs, drawings, and project requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to support accurate cost planning.
  • Manage work valuations, claims, variations, and contract-related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project financial records and prepare cost reports for stakeholders.
  • Provide professional advice on procurement strategies, risk management, and cost optimization initiatives.

Requirements

Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Professional certification or membership of a recognized quantity surveying or construction-related body.
  • Demonstrated experience handling residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to construction projects.
  • Proficiency in quantity takeoff software, BIM tools, and surveying applications.
  • Ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings and validate project quantities accurately.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, commercial, and contract administration skills.
  • Sound understanding of construction methods, building codes, and regulatory standards.
  • Familiarity with National Building Code (NBC), ANSI/ASHRAE, LEED standards, and value-based project delivery models.
  • Strong organizational, planning, multitasking, and stakeholder management abilities.
