Job Description

SnappyCX is seeking an experienced PHP Backend Developer with a strong background in AI-assisted development to join its remote engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining backend systems, integrating APIs, optimizing web experiences, and improving existing applications. This role is ideal for a developer who is comfortable working independently, leveraging AI coding tools, and delivering production-ready solutions in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance multi-step lead capture flows and web applications.
  • Build backend functionality using PHP and MySQL.
  • Integrate, test, and troubleshoot third-party APIs.
  • Create and maintain logging, reporting, and analytics solutions.
  • Optimize application performance and conversion rates through continuous improvements.
  • Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and production-ready code.
  • Improve and support existing systems, including legacy codebases.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team and provide clear progress updates.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in PHP development within a team environment.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools in production environments such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or similar platforms.
  • Strong MySQL knowledge, including schema design, query optimization, and production database management.
  • Intermediate to advanced JavaScript skills, including vanilla JavaScript, DOM manipulation, event handling, asynchronous operations, and JSON processing.
  • Intermediate to advanced CSS skills with experience in responsive design, mobile-first development, cross-browser compatibility, and CSS custom properties.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to solve technical challenges independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience maintaining and improving existing applications and legacy systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Go (Golang) or Python.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, Lightsail, Apache configuration, and deployments.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Shell environments, including SSH, deployments, cron jobs, and command-line tools.
  • Experience with lead generation systems, multi-step forms, performance marketing, and conversion funnel analytics.
  • Experience integrating and debugging REST APIs.
