Job Description

Domfas International Leadership Academy (Domfas ILA) is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Finance and Accounts Officer to oversee the institution’s financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting processes, budgeting, payroll support, financial reporting, compliance, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is essential in ensuring financial accountability, supporting strategic decision making, and promoting the school’s long term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and process daily financial transactions in line with approved accounting standards.
• Prepare financial reports, bank reconciliations, income and expenditure statements, and budget variance analyses.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, student fee records, invoicing, and payment tracking.
• Support annual budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and expenditure monitoring.
• Assist with payroll administration, statutory deductions, staff reimbursements, and employee financial records.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Support procurement activities by reviewing purchase requests, invoices, and maintaining asset records.
• Manage banking transactions, petty cash, cash flow monitoring, and financial documentation.
• Provide financial guidance to management and support school projects requiring financial oversight.
• Perform other finance related duties assigned by the school’s leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Management, or a related field.
• A Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Financial Management, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CNA, AAT, CITN, or other relevant accounting qualifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial administration.
• Previous experience in an educational institution, NGO, training centre, or similar organization is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, payroll administration, tax compliance, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, Zoho Books, or similar financial management systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, problem solving, and record keeping skills with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
