Job Description

O.K.I. (Nig) Limited is recruiting a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs, contract administration, and commercial activities for construction and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in quantity surveying, cost control, procurement, and contract management, particularly within large-scale road and building projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender documents, and project cost plans.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenditure, and provide accurate cost reports and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct value engineering and cost-benefit analyses to improve project profitability and efficiency.
  • Administer construction contracts while ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
  • Manage procurement activities, including sourcing subcontractors, negotiating rates, and reviewing contract terms.
  • Assess interim valuations, certify payments, and prepare final accounts.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to monitor project progress against approved budgets and schedules.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify completed work and ensure material usage aligns with project estimates.
  • Identify commercial risks and recommend cost-effective solutions to minimize financial exposure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for contracts, variations, procurement, and commercial records.
Job Requirements
  • Valid professional registration with the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, preferably within large-scale road construction and building infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contract administration, including FIDIC and JCT contract forms.
  • Advanced proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
