Job Description

A reputable hotel is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to oversee financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, reconciliations, and inventory management. This opportunity is ideal for accounting professionals with hotel or hospitality experience who are detail-oriented and capable of supporting sound financial operations.

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supervise daily revenue ledgers.
• Prepare schedules for statutory payments and ensure timely remittance of all statutory obligations.
• Develop, review, and improve internal control procedures in collaboration with management and the internal audit team.
• Monitor company expenses to ensure they remain within approved budgets and receive proper authorization.
• Supervise monthly stock-taking exercises, inventory reconciliation, and compliance with inventory control procedures.
• Prepare or oversee monthly bank reconciliation statements.
• Coordinate with the procurement, stores, and front desk teams to prepare creditor payment schedules and monitor receivables.

Requirements

• Minimum of an HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• ICAN AAT qualification is required, while candidates at the Advanced ICAN stage will have an added advantage.
• Candidates with ICAN AAT2 or Foundation level and relevant work experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and at least one accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management and financial reporting.
• Applicants should reside in Lagos, preferably within or close to Amuwo Odofin. Candidates outside Lagos should not apply, except those based in Abuja.
• The position is open to both male and female candidates.

Salary

₦300,000 – ₦400,000 per month
