A Business Analyst opportunity is available with SmartDev, an AI-powered software development company headquartered in Vietnam and part of the Verysell Group. The company works with global businesses across fintech, healthcare, retail, and enterprise technology, delivering software, cloud solutions, generative AI, MLOps, and intelligent automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and collaborative sessions with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Write clear User Stories and Acceptance Criteria using Given/When/Then format, including functional logic, edge cases, and UI/UX behaviour.
  • Review Figma wireframes and user flows to ensure alignment with documented requirements and identify gaps before development.
  • Facilitate 3 Amigos sessions involving Business Analysts, Developers, and QA before each sprint to identify and resolve ambiguity early.
  • Ensure user stories meet the Definition of Ready before sprint planning, including being complete, estimated, and sufficiently clear for development.
  • Provide timely requirements handoff to development and QA teams and remain available to address questions throughout each sprint.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, retrospectives, and other Agile delivery activities.
  • Maintain requirement traceability from the original business need through to acceptance testing.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and the internal delivery team, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Assess new client requests against agreed MVP boundaries, challenge scope additions where necessary, and recommend phased or simplified alternatives.
  • Distinguish essential MVP requirements from future enhancements and maintain a clearly documented post-MVP backlog.
  • Facilitate client walkthroughs, sprint demonstrations, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions.
  • Review feedback and distinguish genuine defects from requests that fall outside the agreed scope.
  • Prepare status updates, decision logs, and scope change records to maintain stakeholder alignment.
  • Review deliverables against acceptance criteria during QA and UAT, raising and tracking defects with clear evidence and priority classification.
  • Identify potential compliance considerations, including CASS, AML, and data privacy requirements, and flag regulatory uncertainties for specialist review.
  • Contribute to improving Business Analysis processes, templates, documentation standards, and team practices.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst on software delivery projects, preferably within a product, technology, or consultancy environment.
  • Strong experience writing detailed User Stories and Acceptance Criteria that can be used directly by developers and QA teams.
  • Solid practical experience with Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Proven requirements elicitation experience involving workshops, stakeholder interviews, process analysis, and gap identification.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and defend project scope professionally using evidence, clear rationale, and documented decisions.
  • Ability to negotiate phased alternatives when requests fall outside agreed MVP requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with both non-technical clients and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Confidence in leading challenging client conversations while maintaining professionalism and avoiding unnecessary escalation.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Figma, with at least a review and annotation-level understanding of Figma.
  • Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to independently prepare client-facing documentation and communicate clearly under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
