Job Description
A firm is seeking for a Senior Lawyer (Dispute Resolution & Tax) to handle dispute resolution matters, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
Location: Abuja
Salary: ₦700,000 – ₦1,200,000 monthly
Key Responsibilities
- Handle dispute resolution matters, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
- Advise clients on tax planning, compliance, and dispute matters.
- Represent the firm/organization in court and before regulatory bodies.
- Draft and review legal opinions, pleadings, contracts, and tax-related documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, including FIRS, courts, and tribunals, on behalf of clients.
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers/associates.
- Stay current on changes in Nigerian tax law, CAMA, and relevant case law.
Key Requirements
- LL.B and B.L, with admission to the Nigerian Bar.
- Minimum of 7–10 years post-call experience, with a strong focus on dispute resolution.
- Demonstrable experience handling tax disputes or advisory matters.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies, including NBA. CITN membership is an advantage.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws, including FIRS regulations, Companies Income Tax Act, and VAT Act.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
