Job Description

Dantown Assets Limited, a fast-growing FinTech company harnessing the power of blockchain to deliver innovative financial services, is hiring an Accountant to join its finance team in Port Harcourt. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can manage traditional and crypto-specific financial activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and support day-to-day operations in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Activation Management: Control access to account clerks’ portals by activating and deactivating accounts according to shifts, ensuring only one clerk is active at a time.
  • Reconciliation & Financial Reporting: Oversee daily and shift-based reconciliations for company and service provider transactions; investigate discrepancies and produce reports.
  • Approval of Transactions: Approve fund transfer requests, payment operations, and manual credits like refunds and giveaways after proper verification and documentation.
  • Clerk Supervision & Audit Support: Monitor the activities of account clerks, ensure task accuracy, maintain cash books and schedules, and support external audits with proper documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role; fintech or crypto industry experience is a plus
  • Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, or CPA) is an added advantage
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with blockchain, cryptocurrency wallets, and exchanges
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to multitask independently
