Description:
Miva Open University is inviting applications for the role of Accounting Lecturer to support its mission of delivering high-quality education through Open, Distance, and Digital Learning (ODDL). The position is ideal for individuals with a strong academic background in accounting, proven teaching experience, and the ability to integrate technology and innovation into the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Accounting and its specializations, including Financial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, and Management Accounting.
- Develop and implement curriculum aligned with industry standards and evolving digital practices.
- Conduct impactful research and publish in reputable national and international journals.
- Mentor and advise students, promoting academic and career development in a digital learning environment.
- Engage in community service, academic planning, and institutional development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Accounting or related field (Auditing, Taxation, Forensic Accounting, etc.).
- MSc/MA and BSc/BA in Accounting or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years university teaching experience, preferably in an online or blended learning environment.
- Strong publication record and active engagement in academic research.
- Membership or fellowship of professional bodies such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using LMS platforms like Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard.
- Experience with AI tools, accounting software, and creation of digital learning materials is desirable.
