Job Description

An experienced Area Sales Manager is required to lead territorial sales and revenue growth for mini-grid energy solutions in Plateau State and surrounding regions. This role suits a results-driven sales leader passionate about expanding energy access in rural and underserved communities while building high-performing sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and motivate the mini-grid sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow market share across existing and potential sites.
  • Identify new markets, customer segments, and business opportunities for sustained revenue growth.
  • Forecast sales performance, manage the revenue pipeline, and provide regular performance reports.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, finance, IT, and service teams to ensure effective delivery of business plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, community stakeholders, and key customer groups.
  • Drive best practices across sales operations and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader in the mini-grid and rural electrification space.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant sales experience, including 2–4 years in a similar leadership role within the energy sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in B2B and B2C sales, particularly within rural or underserved markets.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and revenue growth leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sales pipelines, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of Nigeria’s power sector is an added advantage.

Location and Travel

  • Based in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
  • Requires periodic travel to other operational locations.
