Job Description
Sundry Markets Limited is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to provide independent assurance over the effectiveness of the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework. The role focuses on strengthening financial controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, identifying risks, and driving continuous improvement across head office financial processes. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding financial integrity and enhancing the overall control environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all audit activities relating to the ICFR framework, including control testing, compliance assessment, and improvement initiatives
- Plan, execute, and report on head office-level financial controls audits from start to finish
- Review and audit general ledger postings, reconciliations, sales transactions, expenses, approval limits, and other key financial accounts
- Conduct financial reporting risk assessments and design appropriate mitigation strategies
- Develop, update, and enforce internal audit policies, procedures, and methodologies in line with regulatory standards and best practices
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to audit team members and act as a subject matter expert on ICFR-related matters
- Analyze audit findings and present clear, actionable recommendations to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of financial reporting
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, IT, and other departments to ensure a holistic approach to audit and compliance
- Drive continuous improvement within the audit function to enhance audit quality and operational effectiveness
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional accounting certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent
- 6–8 years of progressive experience in internal or external auditing, with strong emphasis on ICFR and financial controls
- Proven expertise in audit execution, control testing, and audit documentation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and exercise professional judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management capabilities
