Job Description
HMD Nigeria is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems in heavy-duty machinery and equipment. The role involves troubleshooting complex electrical faults, working with electronic control systems, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. This position requires strong technical expertise and hands-on experience with heavy equipment electrical systems.

Salary: N350,000 / Month
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical and electronic faults in heavy-duty machinery and construction equipment
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, sensors, relays, alternators, starters, and control modules
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Install electrical components, lighting systems, control panels, and safety devices
- Troubleshoot issues related to ECU systems, batteries, charging systems, and electrical circuits
- Interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals
- Provide on-site electrical repair and troubleshooting support when required
- Maintain accurate service records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts replaced
- Follow all safety policies and electrical safety procedures during maintenance and repairs
Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Auto Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or Electrical Engineering
- 5–7 years of experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably working with heavy-duty machinery or construction equipment
- Experience with electrical systems in equipment such as excavators, loaders, cranes, generators, or forklifts
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment electrical systems, ECUs, sensors, alternators, and battery systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and wiring schematics
- Experience using diagnostic software, testing equipment, and multimeters
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
- Good communication and technical reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
