Automobile Technician – Solar Nigachem Limited

Job Description

Solar Nigachem Limited is seeking an experienced Automobile Technician to oversee fleet operations and automobile maintenance activities at its Ogun State facility. This role is suited for a hands-on professional with strong technical expertise in vehicle maintenance, fleet supervision, and safety compliance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the automobile unit, including drivers and mechanics
• Plan, schedule, and oversee the deployment of factory vehicles
• Ensure all assigned vehicles are operational, serviced, and fit for use at all times
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for the vehicle fleet
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle servicing, repairs, fuel consumption, and maintenance history
• Liaise with mechanics, suppliers, and vendors for spare parts and repair services
• Manage driver schedules, performance, and compliance with transport policies
• Ensure adherence to safety, traffic, and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations
• Allocate manpower and vehicle resources efficiently to meet operational demands
• Monitor automobile-related expenses and implement cost-control measures
• Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure proper vehicle usage procedures
• Prepare and submit regular operational and maintenance reports to the HOD – Engineering

Qualifications & Requirements

• B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in automobile maintenance, fleet management, or supervision, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance procedures, and workshop operations
• Proven ability to plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules
• Proficiency in record keeping, cost tracking, and logistics coordination
• Strong leadership, supervisory, and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• High level of attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
