Job Description

Zojatech Limited is currently hiring a skilled Backend Developer to join its team in Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, testing, and deploying backend software solutions that align with customer and project requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of PHP frameworks, modern development practices, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and deploy backend software systems based on business and client requirements
  • Work with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Lumen following OOP and SOLID principles
  • Design, build, and integrate APIs with strong attention to test-driven development (TDD)
  • Collaborate with business analysts, designers, and other developers within Agile teams
  • Manage and maintain relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Utilize modern development tools such as version control systems and task runners
  • Operate efficiently in a Linux server environment and support basic dev-ops tasks

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4–5 years of hands-on experience as a backend developer
  • Strong knowledge of PHP and experience with frameworks like Laravel or Lumen
  • Proficiency in OOP, SOLID principles, and modern software design practices
  • Experience working with APIs, relational databases, and cloud-based environments
  • Strong communication and time management skills
