Business Analyst (Retail)

Job Description

A Business Analyst is required for a retail chain superstore to support data-driven decision-making and improve operational performance. This role involves translating business objectives into practical strategies, enhancing efficiency across operations, and contributing to overall profitability. It is suited for professionals with strong analytical skills and leadership experience within the retail sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of Business Analysts to encourage performance and professional development
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements using standard formats such as user stories, use cases, and process flows
• Translate business goals into actionable initiatives and provide strategic insights to stakeholders
• Conduct detailed data analysis and utilize visualization tools to monitor KPIs and guide decision-making
• Manage multiple projects to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and alignment with business needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and drive operational efficiency

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage
• 5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
• Strong understanding of retail operations, including supply chain, inventory, and merchandising
• Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, and Power BI
• Knowledge of business process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
• Familiarity with project management frameworks such as Agile or Waterfall
• Professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMP are an added advantage
