Job Description

A media-focused organisation is seeking to hire an experienced Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth through premium partnerships, branded content, and integrated commercial campaigns. This role is suited to a commercially driven professional with strong relationship management skills and a proven ability to close high-value deals within the media, advertising, or content ecosystem.

Location: Victoria Island (VI), Lagos
Salary: ₦600,000 – ₦750,000 monthly net
Job Type: Contract (9 months), with opportunity for permanent role

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by securing integrated premium partnerships, branded content projects, and advertising collaborations.
  • Build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of high-value prospects from first engagement to signed contracts.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across branded content, sponsorships, partnerships, events, and integrated campaigns.
  • Lead commercial conversations end-to-end, including outreach, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Develop tailored proposals, pitch decks, and commercial presentations for prospective partners and agencies.
  • Own and manage relationships with key clients, agencies, and institutional partners.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, creative, and production teams to ensure high-quality delivery of partnerships.
  • Drive repeat business, renewals, and long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Contribute to pricing strategy, packaging, and development of commercial products and offerings.
  • Support revenue forecasting, pipeline planning, and commercial performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with interest in media/journalism.
  • 5–7 years of experience in business development, sales, commercial strategy, or partnerships, preferably within the media or journalism industry.
  • Proven track record of closing revenue-generating deals.
  • A business development portfolio demonstrating prior commercial partnerships or deals.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Comfort working with sales targets, pipelines, and closing responsibilities.
  • Strategic thinking ability with strong execution and delivery focus.
