Business Lead, Field Verification – Lagos
Job Description
A reputable fintech company is seeking a Business Lead, Field Verification to oversee and scale its nationwide field verification operations for loan customers. The ideal candidate will lead verification teams, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce operational risks, and drive efficiency through technology and process innovation. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a solid background in credit risk or loan operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for customer and business field verification within the loans department.
- Lead and manage a distributed team of field verification officers, supervisors, and regional leads across multiple regions.
- Oversee end-to-end verification processes for customers, guarantors, and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor key performance metrics, including verification turnaround time and accuracy rate, and drive continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate with Risk, Credit, and Operations teams to ensure verification activities align with business objectives and regulatory standards.
- Manage relationships with third-party verification partners and ensure consistent documentation and audit readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline; an MBA or professional certification is an added advantage.
- 7–10 years of experience in credit risk operations, field verification, or a related role within fintech, banking, or microfinance.
- Proven ability to lead large or distributed field teams and manage operations at scale.
- Strong knowledge of loan underwriting, KYC/AML, and CBN compliance requirements.
- Experience using digital tools for process tracking, field reporting, and verification management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
