Job Description
A fast-growing payments and agent banking platform is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead its compliance strategy and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. The company provides POS-as-a-Service and embedded finance solutions to merchants, SMEs, and agents across Nigeria. As operations scale, strong compliance and risk management will be essential to maintaining trust and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive compliance framework covering payments, agent banking, KYC/AML, and CBN licensing.
- Ensure strict adherence to CBN, NDPR, and AML/CFT regulations impacting POS, PTSP, and Super-Agent operations.
- Liaise effectively with regulators, auditors, and industry bodies to maintain transparent compliance relationships.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments, identify potential compliance breaches, and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee merchant and agent KYC verification processes to maintain regulatory alignment.
- Design and deliver internal training programs on compliance standards for employees and agents.
- Support licensing processes and ensure continuous compliance with governance structures.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ compliance experience in fintech, banking, or payment services.
- In-depth knowledge of CBN regulations, NDPR, AML/CFT laws, and KYC frameworks.
- Proven experience working with regulators and external auditors.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to enforce compliance without hindering business growth.
