Job Description

A licensed microfinance institution in Nigeria is seeking a qualified Consumer Banking & Payroll Lending Officer to join its team in Abuja. This role involves loan origination, underwriting, and providing excellent customer service while building strong client and payroll partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and acquire new customers for consumer banking and payroll lending products.
• Evaluate, process, and monitor loan applications to ensure compliance with credit policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, payroll partners, and clients.
• Track loan performance, ensure timely repayments, and support recovery processes.
• Provide financial advisory services and promote cross-selling of retail banking products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in retail/consumer banking, payroll lending, or credit operations.
• Strong knowledge of loan origination, underwriting, credit analysis, and risk management.
• Proven ability in sales, business development, and customer relationship management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking software.
